August Walks

There are 3 on tap:

Tuesday, August 1 – Queen’s Park Circle Outside the Circle

Start: 11:00 am

Leader: Simon Pearson

Meet: Museum Station. There are 4 options at the Museum TTC station. Leave the station by the Charles Street exit and meet at the south east corner of Queen’s Park and Charles Street.

Most of us are fairly familiar with what lies within the Queen’s Park Circle, i.e., the Legislature and its grounds. However, just outside the circle there are many other places of interest, often less well known. This walk wends its way right around the outside of the circle without actually touching it. It includes several gardens, lots of sculptures, parts of the U of T, memorials to firemen and police, underground rivers and much more!

Lunch:  The Duke of York pub  (near St. George Station)

Monday, August 14 – Goodman Waterside Trail Walk from Ferry Docks to Ontario Place

Start: 11:00 am

Leader: Rene Laukat

Meet: Lower Bay St. & Queen’s Quay

Lunch: TBD

Tuesday, August 22 – Rosedale Walk

Start: 11:00 am

Leader: Donna Oke

Meet: Rosedale Subway Station. Circular Walk: We will walk the winding streets to Chorley Park and back to Rosedale Station.  Rosedale was initially named by Mary Botsford Jarvis referring to the varieties and abundance of Roses grown in the area in the 1820’s.

Lunch: Rebel House, 1068 Yonge Street
