An empathy challenge for us all—what must it be like to go hungry? Or to have to choose between feeding your family or paying your monthly rent? More than ever hungry people are coming to the Daily Bread Food Bank. Last year there were more than 2.5 million client visits to 150 food banks in Toronto. One in 10 people rely on the food banks. This is what happens when problems like steep housing costs and high inflation translate into fewer dollars to buy groceries.

Social policy researcher Talia Bronstein is VP Research & Advocacy at the Daily Bread Food Bank. She advocates for income security and affordable housing to alleviate poverty and food insecurity. Talia holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Toronto and was 2021 recipient of the Frances Lankin Inspiring Leadership Award.

This forum will be held in the Tartu Auditorium.
