Biweekly, Wednesday 2 – 4, Week 1 – Fall term only
Technological change is occurring at a rapid pace and is impacting the way we live now and will impact the way we live in the future. In this workshop, we will examine some of the disruptive technologies that are being developed and their potential impact. Topics will include, but are not limited to, the Cloud, Internet of Things (IOT), voice-based personal assistants, drones, assistive technologies, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, automomous and semi-automous vehicles, 3D printing, advanced robotics, virtual reality, and gene editing. For each session, an overview of the technology will be presented in the first hour and the second hour will focus on the pros and cons of the technology. No prior knowledge of any of the technologies is required.
Ross Linton is a Q.C. and a Master Emeritus of the Superior Court of Justice. With the exception of one year, he has been a facilitator of workshops at the Academy since it began.
Sandra Linton has been an Academy member for the past ten years and a facilitator for the last four years. Her career as a software training specialist and instructional designer in the corporate world has kept her busy for more than 25 years.
