Dr. Naheed Dosani – “Living and Dying on the Streets: Towards Health Equity in our Communities” (Fall Forum #4)
Dr. Naheed Dosani is a palliative care physician and the founder of ‘PEACH’ Palliative Education and Care for the Homeless——the world’s first mobile palliative care of its kind in the world. PEACH brings housing, mental health and healthcare providers together to plan an individual’s care while recognizing, but not judging, a person’s circumstances. It reflects Dr. Dosani’s passion for advancing equitable access to health care for people experiencing poverty and homelessness. His research efforts also seek to improve access to palliative care for culturally diverse communities.
A recipient of many humanitarian awards, including a Meritorious Service Cross from the Governor General of Canada, Dr. Dosani is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, Health Equity Lead at Kensington Hospice and a Palliative Care Physician at St. Michael’s Hospital.
