JOIN / RENEW Your Academy Membership

  • You may JOIN / RENEW your membership through our online process starting in April. Registrations are not accepted by mail. When you JOIN / RENEW, you may also select your preferred workshops at that time.
  • We recommend using a desktop or laptop if possible. You must use one of the following browsers:
    • Edge
    • Safari
    • Chrome
    • Duck Duck Go

  • The Academy for Lifelong Learning Toronto values your privacy, and does not share your information with any other group.

What You need To Know Before Starting the JOIN / RENEW Process

Membership Fees

When you go through the JOIN / RENEW process, you will be prompted to select your preferred workshops and then submit your payment.

What Does My Membership Fee Cover?

Your membership fee entitles you to register for up to three workshops for the full Academy year, with a possible opportunity to register in a fourth workshop in July if space permits. Your membership fee also covers the Forums, the Spring Talks, and the Academy Walks. There may be a small additional charge for some of the social events.

Any Changes

Changes to your workshop selections may be made by emailing the Membership Committee Chair.

Confirmations

You will hear from Registration by email if there are problems with the workshops you select. Otherwise, confirmations will be emailed in June.

New Member?

Three spaces in each workshop will be reserved for new members until randomization on June 15. After that date, any available spaces will be allocated to those on the waiting lists.

Over-subscribed Workshops

In June, the names of applicants for any over-subscribed workshops will be randomized. This allows for an equitable distribution of applicants to determine membership in the workshop and a waitlist sequence.

Waitlisted?

If you are waitlisted, you will be contacted to see whether you wish to remain on that waitlist or would rather choose another workshop. Registrations received after randomization for over-subscribed workshops will be added to the end of the waitlist.

Cancelled Workshops

A minimum number of participants is required for a workshop to proceed. Applicants will be contacted before the beginning of the semester if their workshop does not meet that minimum number.

March 20, 2024 - Workshop descriptions and Two-Weeks-At-A-Glance posted

April 2, 2024 - JOIN / RENEW membership process begins. Members may register for workshops.

June 2024 - Deadline for registration prior to randomization.

June 2024 - Workshop randomisation day for over-subscribed workshops.

June 2024 - Workshop confirmations sent to members by email.

July 2024 - Option to register in fourth workshop opens.

January 31, 2025 - Registration for current Academy year closes.
