The first Special Event of the new Academy year was very special indeed!

On the morning of September 5th, the Board invited all new members to a special information session in the Faculty Club. Each was personally invited, and about forty, almost every one, attended.

In addition to a welcome from our President, Doug Wilson, the other Committee Chairs outlined their various responsibilities;  Susan Murphy, Chair of Curriculum, gave invaluable advice about workshops, in a presentation laced with gentle humour; and the heads of our Tech Team - Jim Pike and Philip Wong - offered reassurance about available help.

The morning wrapped up with an informal lunch with ample opportunity for all to meet and mingle. The enthusiasm in the room was palpable.

John Weatherburn and his Special Events team are to be congratulated on the successful implementation of an idea that originated with Deborah del Duca and last year’s team.
