During this holiday walk, we’ll be starting from St. Clair and Yonge and walking through Moore Park, Rosedale and Yorkville. Join us as we enjoy the holiday displays.

Meet: Old Mill Subway Station
Route: James Gardens is a former estate on the West Bank of the Humber River. It is known for its flower gardens, terraced stone pathways beside sparkling spring-fed pools and streams and mature trees.
These Gardens were donated by the James family to the City of Toronto and the original home ‘Red Gables’ sits at the summit and exists today.
Flat fairly long walk with one steep hill at the end.
We will then walk along Edenbridge Drive to Royal York and walk or catch a bus to Royal York Subway Station.

Route: Through Summerhill area: Summerhill is named after a house built in 1842 by Canadian Transportation magnate Charles Thompson. Thompson established the ‘SummerHill Park and Pleasure Grounds’. The name is derived from Old English “somer hyll” enoting a hill used for summer grazing.
This walk is very pretty and consists of some hills and dales.

Route: This is a circular walk. We will walk the winding streets to Chorley Park and back to Rosedale Station. Rosedale was initially named by Mary Botsford Jarvis referring to the varieties and abundance of Roses grown in the area in the 1820’s.
