Halloween walk on October 31, 2022 with ALLTO members standing in front of sign.

On Monday October 31st at the late hour of 3:00 pm and under appropriately dark skies with rain threatening, our group gathered in Ramsden Park for the ‘annual’ 2-year delayed Halloween discovery walk.

Under the leadership of the Halloween-appropriate-dressed leader, we headed into the Rosedale community, with Cluny Drive and South Road providing stunning  and photogenic skeletal tableaus. We proceeded through the ever-beautiful Craigleigh Gardens and onto Hawthorne Avenue where the much anticipated grand display of skeletan-driven tractor and hearse-bearing expired bride in full bridal gear.

There were even more elaborate displays heading south to Castle Frank Station.  As the drizzle turned to rain, we headed south along Parliament Street and into Cabbagetown along Metcalf Street, where the leader once again recounted memorable experiences of her pre-teen immigrant life in the rooming-house quarters of #54 and of the community in its less glamorous days of the 1950’s.  As the rains poured down, we escaped into cozy fire-side comfort of the Stout Irish Pub.
