Hogg’s Hollow Walk (Yonge and York Mills area) – Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 11:00 am

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Leader: Josie Szczasiuk

Meet: 11:00 am
Route: One enters a peaceful oasis – immediately unaware of busy Yonge Street. There are 2 loops making a figure eight. One ends up along a branch of the Don River plus a glimpse of Rosedale Golf Course through a locked gate, alas. The second loop follows the valley under a steep cliff. There are beautiful houses and gardens along both loops…..and we end up at the Miller Tavern. Many of the original estate homes and beautiful residences of the early to mid-20th century are being demolished in favour of large new homes but there are still many lovely homes to see on our walk.

Lunch: The Miller Tavern (formerly the Jolly Miller Tavern), c. 1857. It was closed for many years but re-opened in 2004 after many battles between developers, the city and historical advocates. Please let us know at least a week before the walk if you plan to join us for lunch so we can make a reservation.
