A Natural Collaboration: The Arts & Letters Club and the Academy team up to cross promote their memberships

For over 116 years, the Arts and Letters Club has enjoyed being the centre of Canada’s creative soul. The Club is for people who love literature and the arts! There is a natural affinity between the Club and our Academy members who are curious, engaged in the process of lifelong learning, and, keen to meet new friends and socialize. As well, the spirit of volunteerism runs deep within both organizations.

Conversations with Martin Jones revealed that several Academy members are also members of the Arts and Letters Club. This reinforced the idea of embarking on a collaboration to introduce our respective members to each other’s organization.

Beginning in February, the Academy welcomed A&L members to various workshops, walks, and events. In turn, Academy members have attended the A & L Club’s Friday “Pleasant Hour”, with guided tours of the splendid, historic home of the Club on 14 Elm Street. In addition, Academy members are invited to several special speakers and events at the A&L Club.

If you wish to attend any A&L events, please contact Adele Robertson.
