It was a full house at Tartu Event Hall as more than 130 people enjoyed Jazz in the Afternoon.
Julie Cudmore and Jeff Biteen from the Jazz Appreciation Workshop greeted everyone at the front entrance.

What an afternoon! On Thursday, March 20th more than 130 Academy members and guests gathered to enjoy a few hours of music and camaraderie.

The Jazz in the Afternoon event marked the end of the Academy’s academic year in style.

The event was the bright idea of two Academy Facilitators, and their workshop participants. The Jazz Appreciation Workshop, facilitated by Bill Krangle and Frank Richmond, traditionally bring in a professional musician or musicians to mark the end of their year.

This year, they welcomed all Academy members, their guests, and guests from the Arts and Letters Club. On stage were the Jonno Lightstone Trio, who played a wonderful compilation of jazz favourites and original compositions.

At intermission, the audience asked questions of the trio, learning more about their approach to certain pieces and how they find inspiration for their original music.

Thank you, Bill, Frank and the Jazz Appreciation Workshop members, for an amazing afternoon of great music. Special thanks to Eva Krangle and Milli Richmond for their event support.
